What’s the difference of the Screen printing and Gravure printing?

Screen printing is a printing process that involves transferring ink onto a surface through a mesh stencil that has been stretched over a frame. It is a versatile printing method that works with a wide range of materials, including plastics. In screen printing, ink is applied to the substrate by forcing it through the mesh stencil using a squeegee. It is a popular method for printing logos, designs, and other graphics on plastic materials.

Gravure printing, on the other hand, is a method of printing that involves engraving a design onto a cylinder. In the printing process, ink is applied to the cylinder, and then transferred onto the substrate through the use of pressure. Gravure printing is a high-volume commercial printing method that produces high-quality images and is used for printing on plastic materials, among other substrates.

The main difference between screen printing and gravure printing for plastic is that screen printing involves the transfer of ink through a mesh stencil, while gravure printing involves the use of an engraved cylinder. Gravure printing produces a higher quality of print, but it is also more expensive and time-consuming than screen printing. Screen printing is easier and quicker, making it a more cost-effective option for large volumes of print.
