Inadequate Adhesion
Some substrates (such as HDPE and PE plastics) have low surface energy. Without corona treatment or improper pre-treatment, this can lead to poor adhesion of the thermal transfer film. Printed designs are prone to peeling and scratching, especially during frequent handling of drum containers (such as chemical drums).
Transfer Film Stretch and Deformation
When printing on curved surfaces (such as cups and cans), improper film tension control or uneven heating can easily cause localized stretching or shrinkage, resulting in misaligned or wrinkled designs. Especially when printing on large areas, extremely high equipment precision and film material stability are required.
